The thing that I love most about photographing families- is capturing the true meaning of family….and a big part of that is finding a location that is relaxed, so that all members {big and small} can breathe easy. I always encourage my clients to choose a place close to their heart…and in this case, it was the family camp. We had discussed finding a “prettier” place- but in 10, 20, 30 years…..the littlest people in these photos will be grateful to look back on a place that will most likely fill their hearts with love….rather than a “pretty place.”

The canoe is a special one- so it was a perfect spot for everyone to sit.

My very last shot of the session was little Kate swimming with her dad…she was so proud to be swimming this year like a big girl….and this was completely spontaneous…another reason that I love it.
