Alexis & Frank’s European inspired wedding in Wisconsin was an absolute dream. It was amazing to see each little detail come together to bring everyone’s vision to life. It is no wonder Martha Stewart Weddings wanted to feature it!
The venue was perfect for Alexis & Frank’s European inspired wedding dreams.
It reminded me of Ireland with the rolling hills & stone buildings at the golf course. With the ceremony at the brand new Straits Chapel and the reception at Riverbend Kohler, Wisconsin was transformed into the romantic European-esque destination Alexis & Frank wanted.
The florals played such a huge part of Alexis & Frank’s day. From the ceremony space to the reception, these garden style florals were gorgeous. During a scouting trip to the unfinished chapel with the planner & florist, I watched Holly design and sketch the interior and exterior ceremony florals. To see it all in real life was humbling – especially when I stepped out during the ceremony and was able to capture the two of them at the altar. Both Alexis’ bouquet and Frank’s boutonnière were unique and so full of color. Everywhere you turned had florals. There was a beautiful petal cones display for the guests to toss post-ceremony and flowers pouring out of the back of the bride and groom’s getaway vintage Ford truck.
This little green truck gave Alexis & Frank some downtime, just the two of them, like they wanted.
They drove themselves from the golf course to the Riverbend. I was so happy standing on a rock in the brook waiting for them to drive by and capture the scene!
Afterward, it was time for cocktail hour and then the reception under a sailcloth tent. Kate (the planner) and Alexis’ mom didn’t overlook a single detail – it was stunning. My favorite part had to be Alexis’ dad singing Billy Joel’s Piano Man and playing the harmonica. It brought everyone to their feet. Anytime I hear that song, I’m instantly back in that magical tent!
I have to mention all the paper goods design done by Emily Rose Ink. Her custom floral invitations featured numerous hand-illustrated patterns which matched the floral arrangements by Kelly Lenard. Her custom toile design was used to make the throw pillows in the lounge areas and was featured in the welcome boxes. These welcome boxes were unlike anything I’ve seen. The couple’s favorite treats and bespoke elements by Emily Rose Ink filled these beautiful boxes. It was all over the top incredible.
I could go on and on about how wonderful this wedding was. I’m so happy that I got to be the lucky one to document it with the best wedding vendor team from all over the USA.
