This is Kate. Who, when I first met her said….”I’m not photogenic at all, I’m sorry.” Um. Okay. Ha.
Kate’s grandmother’s vintage pearls. I not going to lie- I’m obsessed. Like for reals…I think I’m going to have my Mr. get me some BIG FAT pearls for our 10th anniversary or something.
Because Chris & Kate were married in the evening, and it was early Spring, they opted to do a first look….which worked out perfectly. {And side note- this abandoned church is going to be used for one of my couples this August…ek!}
Really. I’m-not-photogenic? I love these two- inside and out!
I love pink. Kate loves pink. Match made in heaven.
Everyone involved in this wedding helped with so many, many DIY elements- their first kiss…in front of the ribbon draped arbor. Adorable.
We were loosing light FAST after the ceremony & receiving line…..so I made these girls hustle….but it was worth the work!
Congratulations Mrs. & Mrs. Wood! xoxo

On Sunday morning I went out and grabbed this first shot of one of our apple trees- I was so excited that it had finally BLOSSOMED! I was happily surprised that so many of you liked it on Facebook…..really surprised, because almost didn’t even bother posting it! Anywho- it inspired me today to take some more pretty apple blossom shots- it’s a crummy day outside today….but Henry and I played around and took some shots in our dining room. Enjoy! xo

Oh, and my awesome pink curtains? They are Snow & Graham for Garnet Hill flat sheets that I simply cut and hemmed….I LOVE them.
And that silly bike in the garden photo hanging on the wall? It’s one of my old photos- taken on our honeymoon at the Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe….and was one of my very first magazine covers for WREN <3

Have you heard the exciting news? Rodeo & Co Photography was featured in the Spring 2012 edition of Martha Stewart Weddings and I’m just about over the moon with delight! To be featured in MSW has alway been a dream of mine, and I’m still asking people to pinch me to make sure it’s a reality every once in a while!

Like I said- pinch me!

Vanessa and Michael’s wedding on June 4th, 2011 was such a pleasure to shoot. The ceremony took place in the sweetest garden in Portsmouth, NH where the couple now reside. With a palette of deep teal, vivid pink, and shiny silver, every single detail of this wedding was eye-catching and wonderful. The bouquet highlighted the color theme with both bright and dusty pink peonies, roses, and lisianthus and silvery foliage.

The ring bearer, Matthew’s, toothy grin is enough to melt you! And the ring pillow was hand stitched with exquisite detail by Mike’s stepmom.

We snuck in a few shots on bike’s borrowed from the Ale House Inn along the picturesque banks of the Piscataqua River on our way from the ceremony to the reception.

Bridesmaids were free to wear any teal dress they wanted, but they all picked the same Watters & Watters design.

Escort cards peek out from wooden shutters that Vanessa found in her florist’s basement and painted.

Tables were set with flower-filled jars and a sign bearing a Portsmouth neighborhood in lieu of a number. By the way, all the stationary and paper goods for the wedding from the invitations to the table cards to the thank you notes were designed by the bride!

Vanessa didn’t want the standard couple on top of the cake, so she challenged Jeanne Kalman of The Well Dressed Cake to fashion a sugar peony cake topper. Jeanne certainly rose to the task with a design that matched Vanessa’s bouquet almost perfectly!

One of the most thoughtful details of the wedding was teal guitar friends and family could autograph with a silver marker. It now hangs in Mike’s office.

Of course all of this looks just a little brighter and better in the glossy pages of Martha Stewart Weddings! To see more of the perfectly planned details of Vanessa and Mike’s dreamy wedding, pick up the magazine or visit the MSW website .
