In the press: Gillian & Geoffrey featured in Vermont Vows

So happy to share that Gillian & Geoffrey’s adorable Vermont wedding is currently featured in the brand new Vermont Vow’s issue….It always blows me away to see my images in print….and this one wedding was so incredibly wholesome and full of love and lovely little details…it really warms my heart to see it shared with the masses.

Although this image didn’t make it into the magazine feature, I love it because it seems to sum up the true Vermont beauty of G&G’s wedding….this was taken just moments after the ceremony….they ducked behind some trees and took a little walk together in the sunshine. xo

Recent Press: Martha Stewart Weddings Magazine, Spring 2012

Have you heard the exciting news? Rodeo & Co Photography was featured in the Spring 2012 edition of Martha Stewart Weddings and I’m just about over the moon with delight! To be featured in MSW has alway been  a dream of mine, and I’m still asking people to pinch me to make sure it’s a reality every once in a while!

Like I said- pinch me!

Vanessa and Michael’s wedding on June 4th, 2011 was such a pleasure to shoot. The ceremony took place in the sweetest garden in Portsmouth, NH where the couple now reside. With a palette of deep teal, vivid pink, and shiny silver, every single detail of this wedding was eye-catching and wonderful. The bouquet highlighted the color theme with both bright and dusty pink peonies, roses, and lisianthus and silvery foliage.

Vanessa's gorgeous bouquet!

The ring bearer, Matthew’s, toothy grin is enough to melt you! And the ring pillow was hand stitched with exquisite detail by Mike’s stepmom.

We snuck in a few shots on bike’s borrowed from the Ale House Inn along the picturesque banks of the Piscataqua River on our way from the ceremony to the reception.

Bridesmaids were free to wear any teal dress they wanted, but they all picked the same Watters & Watters design.

Escort cards peek out from wooden shutters that Vanessa found in her florist’s basement and painted.

Tables were set with flower-filled jars and a sign bearing a Portsmouth neighborhood in lieu of a number. By the way, all the stationary and paper goods for the wedding from the invitations to the table cards to the thank you notes were designed by the bride!

Vanessa didn’t want the standard couple on top of the cake, so she challenged Jeanne Kalman of The Well Dressed Cake to fashion a sugar peony cake topper. Jeanne certainly rose to the task with a design that matched Vanessa’s bouquet almost perfectly!

One of the most thoughtful details of the wedding was teal guitar friends and family could autograph with a silver marker. It now hangs in Mike’s office.

Of course all of this looks just a little brighter and better in the glossy pages of Martha Stewart Weddings! To see more of the perfectly planned details of Vanessa and Mike’s dreamy wedding, pick up the magazine or visit the MSW website . Also, the talented wedding planner, Diana Ma, put together a terrific post of all the little details that made the day so memorable over on her blog!

Of course none of the photos would be possible without the talent and artistry that went into the day:

Featured in print: Ben & Laura in New England Gala Weddings

Ahhhhh!!!! So happy to share this with all of you- Laura & Ben’s Quechee, Vermont wedding from this past July is one of the three featured real weddings in the newest issue of New England Gala Weddings Magazine. I’m so humbled and honored to see this wedding in print- ek! And bonus, my favorite photographer-mentor-teacher-friend Carla Ten Eyck also has a featured wedding and she shot the Jackie O. inspired shoot….crazy, right? That’s what I thought!

“Most brides start planning the day after they say “yes.” For Laura Cricenti, though she didn’t know it at the time, it began two years before her boyfriend, Ben Percy, even proposed. When her best friend was planning her own wedding in 2009, they checked out The Quechee Club on Vermont’s eastern border with New Hampshire as a possible venue. Her friend opted for a different location, but the club – as well as the wedding photographer, Meg McGovern Hamilton of Rodeo & Co. Photography – made a lasting impression on Laura. So when it came time for Ben and Laura to pick a wedding date, they left it up to the availability of Hamilton and The Quechee Club, settling on July 9, 2011, with the ceremony by Lake Pinneo on the grounds and the reception in the rustic, post-and-beam Clubhouse.” Seriously. Ah.

“[photography] on Location Days before the wedding, Laura received a Facebook post from Hamilton, simply reading “Carousel.” Laura assumed the strange post was a mistake, but Hamilton was actually scouting shoot locations and had found Quechee Gorge Village’s classic pony carousel, a great spot she was psyched to share with her bride, however vaguely. Before the ceremony, Laura and her bridesmaids piled on to the ride for one of the wedding’s most fun shoots. “[Hamilton’s] personality makes you feel like she’s one of your friends, hanging out taking your picture,” says Laura.” Um. Thank you, Laura, you are the sweetest girl on the planet.

And, as a bonus, in the Inspiration Closet feature in the beginning of the magazine they featured my shot of Emily Herzig Floral Studios birdcage centerpiece. Sweetness! There were also a few other shots of mine splattered about the magazine- but you’ll just have to go pick up your own copy!

THANK YOU Gala Weddings! xoxoxo
