Jason & Tara are getting married next September at the rustic & chic Alerin Barn in St. Johnsbury, Vermont….but we did their engagement session in the historic Concord, MA —-right on the grounds of Hawthorne & Alcott….it was a dreamy, foggy morning….ahhhhhh……

p.s. I got a sneak peek of florist Emily Herzig’s pinterest boards for the wedding…..CAN NOT WAIT!

Earlier this month I was invited to participate in a New Hampshire photographers blog circle- so you may have landed here after enjoying the photos posted by Stephanie of Princeton House Photography :0)
This month’s theme was appropriate: what loves look like. 3-5 photos. I decided not to do the obvious and take a million photos of Marcus & Henry {Nate would never, ever let me take his photo, especially if he knew it would go online somewhere :0) }….Instead, I decided to document the love that is here in our home everyday.

Red Peppers and Purple Onions. Big deal. What does this have to do with love? Because if you knew me 8 years ago, you’d would have known the me that HATED onions and peppers {and I still really don’t like green peppers}…..but this guy that I married, he loves them….and I so, I learned to adjust my tastes and cooking to make his belly happy. And, honestly, I like my chili better now :0)

Chopping an extra red onion, because I was informed that one just wasn’t enough. And for me, although I’m not all gushy all the time- I love preparing a wholesome meal for all my guys.

Love is watching my 3 year old blossom as his own artist. Even though it means lots of paint on the kitchen island.

Love is in the stacks of wood that Nate chopped, split, stacked, and carried into the house to keep us all nice and toasty this winter.

Love is at the end of the night, when all my guys are in bed, and I have a chance to tidy up the house before I head upstairs and work in my office. It’s in the painting that my mom did on the wall. It’s in the quilt my Gram made for me when I was on bed-rest. It’s in the antique sofa that Nate didn’t object to coming in the house, because he knew I adored it. It’s in the perfect rug my sister found for me. It’s in the photo of my great-grandmother, my Nanny, my aunt and my dad. It’s in the dump-truck. Love is everywhere – and I have to remind myself of this because I’m pretty sure I won’t be getting flowers tomorrow :0) xo

Lily is hanging out with us today while her babysitter is enjoying new twin baby grandbabies….and I thought it might be fun {and break up the day a bit!} to do a little impromptu Valentine’s session as a surprise for her Mommy & Papa. <3

Love this little Lily laugh! p.s. Lily’s cutie-pie shirt is from Growing Up Garnet Hill {and they make it different colors for big girls too!}

Sweet cheeks Henry P. Wiggles….he wasn’t so interested in looking at me, but at least he stayed still for a 1/2 second!

Sparky….he was so not in the mood…he just wanted his cupcake!
We don’t have any super big plans for Valentine’s Day this year —the day after Henry turns ONE! There are so many adorable Valentine’s Day ideas over on Pinterest…I’m thinking after the kids go to bed I might have some red velvet hot cocoa with Nate & maybe make some pink and red sprinkled popcorn {with which chocolate}. YUMMMMM. What are your plans?
